In a comment to Computerworld, an Acer spokeswoman confirmed that Windows RT devices remain on the company's product roadmap, despite Acer CEO JT Wang's turbulent stance on Microsoft's upcoming Surface tablet. Last week Wang issued a stern warning, claiming that Microsoft's foray into the tablet space would cause brands to "take a negative reaction." Only days later Wang reiterated that Microsoft's tablet plans would have a negative impact on the PC ecosystem, but his tone seemed to soften as he added that Acer would continue "aggressively developing related devices." Acer executives have been rather vocal opponents to the Surface tablet whereas others, like HP and Lenovo, say Microsoft's device is no threat to their efforts. The coming months should prove interesting as Microsoft reveals more information about the Surface tablet's pricing and we learn what hardware vendors have in store.
