When Motorola launched its bootloader unlocking program earlier this week, we had high hopes that its extremely limited list of supported devices would soon expand. Unfortunately, the company revealed on Twitter that freeing older smartphones from the tyranny of Motoblur was "not currently in the plan."
The statement came in response to a user that asked if devices like the Droid 3, Bionic, or Droid X2 would be included in the program. While the news doesn't come as a huge surprise, we'd hoped that Motorola would follow HTC's lead in offering unlocking tools for a wide range of devices.
