Samsung is preparing to launch a 10.1-inch Windows RT-powered Ativ Tab as part of the company's Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 announcements. Sources familiar with the company's plans have revealed that the Ativ Tab will measure just 8.9mm thick and weigh 570g. It will also feature a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with a 5-megapixel rear camera and 1.9-megapixel forward facing camera.

Designed to launch as part of Samsung's Ativ Microsoft-powered hardware brand, Samsung's Ativ Tab includes a USB and uHDMI port. Office Home and Student 2013 will be packed as part of the Windows RT operating system available on the tablet, which we have previously revealed will be a preview version until Office 2013 is formally launched next year. Our sources believe Samsung may introduce its Ativ Tab at IFA 2012 this week.
