Amazon has just announced that its Appstore is available in five key European markets. The store is a rival to Google Play, and sells Android apps for phones and tablets. Amazon started taking submissions for the European version of its store back in June, and with the store now live we'll hopefully start seeing some of the exclusive titles stateside users have grown accustomed to.

The store is live now in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. With its Ecosystem now in place in the largest markets, there can't be too much stopping Amazon from bringing its Kindle Fire tablet — or its rumored smartphone — over to Europe. The company is holding a press conference on September 6th where it's widely expected to announce some new Kindle hardware, so stay tuned for more Amazon news soon.
