Is one 84-inch 4K TV in a day not enough for you? Then good news: LG has its 84-inch Ultra-Definition 3D TV here at IFA 2012 in Berlin, and we've had some time to peer into its depths at the company's booth. In this brightly-lit environment the first thing that we noticed was the glare — the display is nearly impossible to see from the sides. Still, we wouldn't call this normal TV watching conditions, and this problem plagues many of LG's sets here.

Ignoring the glare, what does a seven-foot wide display with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 look like? Well, it certainly looks crisp at normal viewing distances — that's a given — but the real difference that this resolution provides is that you can view the TV from much closer. At roughly five feet away the 84-inch display consumes a massive amount of your vision, and pixels are only just visible. Try that on a set with such a large screen size and a 1080p resolution (like Sharp's 90 monster), and the results aren't good. On the 3D side of things, donning the passive glasses does hamper the viewing experience, as usual, but the 3D didn't struggle at oblique viewing angles.

LG says that the 84LM9600 will start rolling out this month in Korea at a previously-reported price of ₩25 million (about $22,100). When we asked how much the set would cost in the US were were told that $20,000 isn't out of the question, and no more word past that September release window we heard earlier.
