PayPal for Android has been updated with the latest version offering a significant redesign that brings the app's appearance in line with Google's 'Holo' UI guidelines. Menus have been refreshed with the same brown-heavy styling found in its iOS application and PayPal Here, the company's Square competitor. Yes, you'll still find plenty of stitched leather and threaded backgrounds, though we generally prefer how things look here thanks to the Holo underpinnings. The new design also makes for a better experience using the app, providing quick, glanceable overviews of your account activity. Apart from aesthetic changes, PayPal also added some core functionality to its Android release: users can now just scan a credit or debit card to add it to their account as a funding source. The latest version of PayPal for Android is available via Google Play now.
