Google has been gradually rolling out new areas of coverage for its live traffic feature since its 2008 launch, and today announced another major global expansion, adding the feature to locations in South, Central and North America.

Google has been gradually rolling out new areas of coverage for its live traffic feature since its 2008 launch, and today announced another major global expansion, adding the feature to locations in South, Central and North America. The Google Maps live traffic overlay is now available for more than 130 smaller cities in the US, as well as the capitals of Colombia, Costa Rica, and Panama. In addition, Google has expanded coverage in parts of Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Sweden, and the UK.
