Ghost Recon Online, a free-to-play PC shooter first announced earlier last year, is now in open beta, publisher Ubisoft announced.

The game is now available to download and play, read a message on the official Ghost Recon Online blog. Users must first have a Uplay account to sign up.

The online title also began its first weekly mission titled Operation Eagle Eye, which requires the player to maintain an accuracy of 15 percent over the course of five matches in order to earn a rare armor insert.

Ghost Recon Online is due to release later this year. A version for Wii U is expected to release following its appearance on PC.
