President Obama signed a bill into law today that allows consumers to automatically share the videos they watch Netflix directly to Facebook, says The Hill. This comes a few weeks after the bill successfully passed through the US Senate and will bring Facebook's much-touted frictionless sharing to one of the internet's biggest video service. Users in Canada and Latin America were able to do this for some time, but it was previously illegal under the Video Privacy Protection Act, which requires written consent for the information to be shared. While it's not clear exactly when Netflix and Facebook will push this functionality out, the fact that other countries are already doing it means it likely won't take long.
