Sports camera manufacturer Ion has significantly broadened its offerings this year, announcing an updated version of its Ion Air Pro and two new cameras, the Ion Adventure and the Ion Speed Pro. The Ion Adventure weighs 4.2 ounces, has a side-mounted lens, and shoots video at 1080p. Using GPS information, the Adventure allows users to add location, speed, and altitude data to their videos for posterity. The manufacturer also aims to simplify shooting on outdoor treks with the addition of dual SD card storage and a sensor that triggers recording when it detects movement.

Ion also announced the Air Pro 2, the newest version of its waterproof Air Pro camera. Upgraded from last year's model, the Air Pro 2 features a 14-megapixel sensor paired with a 180-degree lens, and shoots 720p video at 60fps, and 1080p video at 30fps. Similar to the previous version, the camera has about 2.5 hours of battery life, and can share photos and video using the Ion app for iOS and Android when paired with one of Ion's Wi-Fi Podz accessories. The waterproof Ion Speed Pro, which was simultaneously announced today, can also share using Wi-Fi Podz, and shoots in 1080p using a 170-degree wide lens angle.

Both the Ion Adventure and the Ion Air Pro 2 will be available beginning in March. The Adventure will retail for $349.99, while the Ion Air Pro will sell for less than its predecessor at $249.99 for the camera and several accessories, and $299.99 for the camera, accessories, and a Wi-Fi Podz to connect to the Ion app. The Ion Speed Pro, aimed at high-speed sports shooters, will sell for $299.99.
