HTC's supremely limited edition golden One handset is in London today, where I was one of the few people allowed to get their hands on the 18-carat phone. One of only five gold-plated units, this handset has been put together to promote the MOBO Awards, and notably has the MOBO logo on the back where the Beats insignia used to be. The golden One doesn't feel in any significant way different from the regular aluminum phone, though it does catch the light a lot more, glinting the way gold tends to do. The major downside of the 18-carat purity? The gold's too soft and picks up scratches easily.
