Monsters is an enthralling short video created for the release of German band Abby's single of the same name. Written and directed by Iranian creative Pooya Abbasian, it tells the story of a young girl living in Paris, haunted by monsters. The director describes Abby as "submerged in the world of her own turmoil and paranoia, where the line between reality and nightmare is growing thinner and thinner."

The character design of the main monster is at once alluring and somber, and while the vignetting and effects can distract from the overall impact, Monsters stands as a cohesive piece of work. It's one of many projects from Magnitude, a London-based collective that gained recognition for its Nature Regulate short film, which was also directed by Abbasian.
