The first trailer for Darren Aronofsky's latest film Noah has been released, and it looks every bit as epic as the biblical story it adapts. The film stars Russell Crowe in the title role, alongside Jennifer Connelly (who worked with Aronofsky in Requiem for a Dream) and Emma Watson. Anthony Hopkins, coming off roles in Thor: The Dark World and Red 2, will play the impossibly agéd Methuseleh.
Noah is set to hit theaters next March, though it already looks like the Black Swan director is mining Roland Emmerich's bag of tricks to make the film as over-the-top as possible. Its chief competition will be the Kit Harrington vehicle Pompeii, due out in February.
