Sony Computer Entertainment America has just revealed its launch lineup of entertainment apps for PlayStation 4 and there aren't many surprises. Established names in video on demand (VOD) like Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Instant Video are all there, joined by a number of fringe players including Sony's own Music and Video Unlimited services. In fact, there's nothing coming to PlayStation 4 that someone used to PlayStation 3's streaming options will be excited by.
The full list features just 13 apps:
- Amazon Instant Video
- Crackle
- Crunchyroll
- EPIX
- Hulu Plus
- NBA Game Time
- Netflix
- NHL GameCenter LIVE
- Redbox Instant
- VUDU
- YuppTV
- Sony Music Unlimited
- Sony Video Unlimited
PlayStation 4 launches in the US and Canada on November 15th, the week before Microsoft's new Xbox. While Xbox One focuses heavily on entertainment, featuring a HDMI passthrough that lets you watch cable TV through your console, Sony has so far positioned PlayStation 4 as more of a console than an entertainment hub.
