Nike has already brought two well-reviewed running apps to Android, but it seems anyone hoping to get on board with the company's FuelBand fitness tracking wristband is out of luck. At least for now. Replying to a frustrated user's inquiry on Twitter, Nike's support team confirms an Android app isn't currently in the works. "Right now, we're focused on iOS and the web," says the tweet. "We're not working on an Android app." It doesn't get much clearer than that, and Nike represents another example of fitness companies directing their primary focus towards iOS, often leaving Android on the back burner. Jawbone has also yet to embrace the OS with a companion app for its line of wearable fitness accessories. To be clear, plenty of runner-friendly apps can be found via Google Play. But if you're looking to track your health to a closer degree, it would seem Fitbit remains your best option for now.

Update: Nike's PR department has issued a brief statement to Droid Life that reiterates the position it first laid out on Twitter.

To deliver the best experience for all Nike+ FuelBand users, we are focusing on the FuelBand experience across iOS and nikeplus.com, where you can sync your activity, set new goals, and connect with friends. At this time, we are not working on an Android version of the mobile app.
