You still need an invite to partake in MoviePass, an ambitious service attempting to apply a subscription model to the traditional moviegoing experience, but now Android users can also join in. The company today released version 1.0 of its app for Google's mobile OS, allowing subscribers to pay between $24.99 and $39.99 (depending on average ticket prices in your area) and see a movie every day of the month if they so choose. Unfortunately the same, somewhat complex process applies here. Theaters have continued to resist supporting MoviePass, so you'll need to buy tickets with a virtual debit card upon your arrival at the theater — just as iOS users do. 3D and IMAX viewings still aren't eligible, and you'll need a GPS-equipped phone so that MoviePass can verify you're actually at a theater.
