Apple has quietly updated its online store to allow orders of its 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMacs with VESA adapters, making it compatible with your existing wall or desk mount for an additional $40. Adding a small link to the bottom of its iMac order pages, Apple provides a separate checkout process for its VESA-compatible all-in-one computers.

The new VESA-compatible iMacs come without a stand, but Apple does offer the option to add a wall or desk mount (starting at $139.95) while ordering. They come almost five months after Apple launched its new, thinner iMacs, without a mounting option. While standard iMacs ship within 24 hours, you'll have to wait between 7-10 days for a model with a built-in VESA mount adapter.
