A remake of The Evil Dead is slated for April, but it won't be our only trip back to the haunted woods — Sam Raimi, the director of the original Evil Dead film trilogy, has announced that he plans to work on a script for Evil Dead 4 this summer. According to Disney UK, Raimi said, "I would love to make Evil Dead 4," at an event yesterday in London.

The last entry in Raimi's series was released in 1992, and his recent work — including the Spider-Man trilogy — has been considerably more mainstream than the campy horror of The Evil Dead. The director last returned to horror in 2009 with Drag Me to Hell and was well received by critics. Raimi and recurring Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell are credited as producers of the April 2013 remake, and we can only hope that they'll be teaming up once more when work on Evil Dead 4 begins.
