DuckTales was one of the more surprising success stories on the original Nintendo Entertainment System, and one of the best licensed videogames of the era. Now, almost 25 years after its original release, DuckTales will be coming to the Wii U, PS3, and Xbox 360 in a modernized version known simply as DuckTales Remastered. The game, which Capcom says is arriving this summer for $14.99 (or the equivalent in MS points) is entirely based on the original game, though the levels have been "expanded" to "significantly enhance the gameplay experience." Of course, the graphics have been updated, as well — the visuals are all hand-drawn sprites while the backgrounds will exist in full 3D, according to Polygon, who saw a preview of the game at PAX East. The game's original soundtrack melodies are in place as well, though Capcom says it's giving them a "modern twist." We're cautiously optimistic that this game will retain the spirit and fun of the original and that the updates don't stray too far from the original game's design.
