Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit and a startup investor, is shooting for a new title outside the tech sector: pro-basketball team part-owner. But he needs rapper Jay-Z's help to get there. As SB Nation reports, Ohanian told Bloomberg News this morning that he "absolutely" wants to buy the minority stake of the Brooklyn Nets that Jay-Z is looking to sell so that the rap mogul can try his hand at being an NBA agent. Ohanian may not have helped design Nets stadium Barclays Center, logo or uniforms, as Jay-Z is reported to have done, but he is a dedicated fan of the team as a season-ticket holder and neighbor in Brooklyn Heights.

Ohanian further explained his interest in Nets ownership on Twitter and in a post on Reddit's NBA subreddit, writing "I'm a diehard Skins (/r/nfl knows) fan, but I've come to terms with never getting a share out of Dan Snyder. I realize it's a token amount. But I actually live in Brooklyn and I'm pretty good with the internet — I reckon that could be helpful. Also - AMAs from ALL THE PLAYERS. Maybe not Kris." We'll have to watch and see if he gets his share and if so, what sorts of Reddit memes end up gracing the jumbotron at Barclays.
