Wunderlist, the popular to-do app from Berlin-based 6Wunderkinder, will soon be available as a subscription-based service. Before you get too worried, the current app will continue to be free, but if you want some of the features included in the new Wunderlist Pro, as it's being called, you'll need to pay $4.99 a month or $44.99 a year for the privilege. What you get in exchange for some cash are some additions that 6Wunderkinder thinks will appeal to small businesses looking for a task management solution. Namely, Wunderlist Pro includes the ability to assign tasks, a key feature that is essential once you have more than a few people on the same shared to-do list. There will be a new Smart List that accumulates tasks that have been assigned to you to help you keep track of it all.

Otherwise, the company is keeping mum on what the subscription will offer, though it has revealed that it will include some alternative backgrounds — good news for those tired of the app's faux-wood style — and unlimited subtasks. While that isn't an abundance of features, the company says that one should "think of it as a launching pad that will let us promptly add bigger and better Wunderlist Pro features on a regular basis." According to TechCrunch, the service is expected to go live for Mac, iPhone, iPad, and the web next week. Android and Windows versions, meanwhile, are in the works.
