"It's like the networks just gave up," says Rembert Browne, writing for Grantland on "the extinction of the great sitcom fonts." For most of the nineties, viewers tuning into Duckman, Saved by the Bell, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and other sitcoms were greeted to a typographical cocktail of custom fonts, layouts, and animated letters.
