The Great Gatsby still
The Great Gatsby still

The summer movie season is just around the corner, and we're getting some new glimpses at the films that will be coming to theaters this year. We've put together a collection of some of the most intriguing new trailers — from thrillers to dramas, and everything in between. Whether you're focused on independent movies or big-budget literary adaptations, you'll want to take a look.

The Great Gatsby

Baz Luhrmann's 3D take on The Great Gatsby features Leonardo DiCaprio as the title character, with the director's trademark hyper-stylization on full display — along with soundtrack contributions from Beyonce and Florence and the Machine, of course.

The Purge

A sci-fi and thriller mash-up with a clever premise — and a lead actor that showed his genre chops in last year's Sinister.

Carrie

Rebooting horror classics has proven to be a dicey proposition — just look back at Friday the 13th and the new Nightmare on Elm Street for recent examples. However, this Carrie remake — directed by Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don't Cry) and starring Chloë Grace Moretz from Kick-Ass — appears to be hitting all the right notes. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until October to know for sure.

Only God Forgives

The star and director of Drive team up again. You know exactly what to expect.
