The unofficial Star Wars holiday of May the Fourth won't be back for another year, but you can still revel in some little-known Star Wars trivia thanks to io9. Did you know that the original script for The Empire Strikes Back, arguably the best movie of the entire franchise, was written by a woman? Though George Lucas didn't end up using Leigh Brackett's treatment, he did incorporate some elements from it in the final movie. Additionally, later drafts of the movie were penned by hand by screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, and some of those original hand-written notes have recently seen the light of day thanks to a donation to the Writers Guild Foundation Archive. With many new movies in the pipeline because of Disney's new ownership of Lucasfilm and the franchise, it's fun to go back and see how the original movies developed into what we know today.
