One of gaming's most iconic first-person shooter franchises will be revived later this year when Bethesda releases Wolfenstein: The New Order. The publisher announced the title today, tentatively setting a Q4 2013 shipping timeframe for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and next generation consoles. According to Gamespot, The New Order's story will take place in 1960s Europe; players will again assume the role of B.J. Blazkowicz as he wages war against Nazi forces. As the announcement trailer makes clear, however, the latest Wolfenstein isn't exactly grounded in reality. You'll be battling against and attempting to commandeer Nazi "super weapons," which include massive, weapon-toting robots by the looks of it. That's all we know so far, but we should have a much better understanding of Wolfenstein: The New Order by the end of this week; Gamespot will be releasing additional details on the game each day. In the meantime, catch the announcement trailer below.
