Sure, you’re seeing Man of Steel this weekend, but what then? It’s the end of the week, so let’s take a look at some of the latest movie trailers to make the rounds!

300: Rise of an Empire

While the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead was Zack Snyder’s first feature, it was the stylish 300 that really put the director on the map. Noam Murro takes the reins for this follow-up, based on Frank Miller’s Xerxes. Snyder serves as producer and co-writer, and from the clip here the film appears to carry on the signature look and feel of the original.

White House Down

Earlier this year Olympus Has Fallen failed to fire up audiences, but like many high-concept ideas it has a twin: Roland Emmerich’s White House Down. This definitely appears to be the high-end version of Die Hard in the White House, with Jamie Foxx starring as the President and Channing Tatum as the man who must get him out alive. Bottom line? When it comes to blowing up famous US landmarks, there’s Emmerich — and then there’s everybody else.

The Wolverine

Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine is just a few weeks away, and this latest trailer fills in a few more gaps about the Japan-set sequel. Directed by James Mangold (Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma), the film hits US theaters on July 26th.

Salinger

A documentary about a reclusive author may not sound like great trailer fodder, but this teaser for Shane Salerno’s film about J.D. Salinger is expertly crafted. A look at the life and troubles of the man behind The Catcher in the Rye, the film includes interviews with those close to Salinger, and explores the mystery of his unpublished works. It’s scheduled for release this September.
