Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus: the new ultrabook champion has arrived
Gallery Photo: Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus Samsung's dual-OS Ativ Q will no doubt dominate the headlines emanating from the company's Premiere 2013 event that just wrapped up, but for some of us the star of the show was another Windows device, the Ativ Book 9 Plus. This horribly disjointed name has been attached to a laptop the likes of which we've literally never seen before.
Read Article >The 13.3-inch screen squeezes in an unprecedented 3200 x 1800 resolution, and what's dramatically more, Samsung promises it'll go for a full 12 hours of use. Compare that to Apple's newly refreshed MacBook Air, which can go for 13 hours but has to power a much tamer 1440 x 900 display. The Ativ Book 9 Plus also has a touchscreen, which the Apple machine lacks.

Galaxy S4 Active hands-on: what the original should have been
s4 active Read Article >It's not technically premiering today, having already been announced earlier in the month, but Samsung's Galaxy S4 Active is very much present at the company's Premiere 2013 event in London. The new water- and dust-resistant variant of Samsung's multimillion-selling Android flagship immediately feels more robust in the hand. It's a bit thicker and a bit taller than the original S4, but those are small tradeoffs to make for its much-improved durability.

Galaxy NX After many rumors and even a press photo leak, Samsung revealed the Galaxy NX today at its Premiere 2013 event. About that sensor: it's a 20.3-megapixel APS-C sensor, just like the one found in the company's high-end mirrorless cameras.

Samsung's Galaxy S4 will soon be available in five new colors
via puu.sh Read Article >To go along with the slew of new products Samsung is announcing today, the company also took a few moments to tout its flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone. Samsung also took a moment to introduce the phone in a number of new colors, much as it did last summer for the Galaxy S III. As shown on stage, the five new colors are blue, purple, red, brown, and pink — each with an appropriately goofy adjective added on for good measure. Samsung first announced that it would be bringing new colors out last month when it trumpeted Galaxy S4 sales of 10 million, but unfortunately it didn't say when or where these new colors would be available. If last year was any indication, we'd expect international territories to get them first, with different colors eventually trickling down to various US carriers a bit later.

Samsung's Ativ Q is a Windows laptop and an Android tablet in one insanely high-res package
Samsung Ativ Q The Q is powered by an Intel Core i5 Haswell processor. Samsung says it'll get up to 9 hours of battery life, which would be quite the achievement for such a high-res device. But the real selling point is the dual-booting, and particularly the SideSync software that lets you share data between the two operating systems, and even pin Android apps to your Start screen. It also lets you use your computer to back up your Samsung Android phone, and even use your PC keyboard to type on your phone. To hear Samsung tell it, the Ativ Q is basically a Windows computer with the Play Store — that's a pretty impressive proposition. And, of course, there's an S Pen.
Read Article >Samsung also announced the Ativ Tab 3, a super-thin 10.1-inch tablet running Windows 8. It's all part of the Ativ family, which Samsung's made a big deal about — bringing laptops, tablets, and crazy convertibles all under the same roof. It looks a lot like the Galaxy Tab 3, a fact Samsung acknowledged during its press conference, but it's very much a full Windows device — "not the RT version," our emcee said with considerable disdain for Microsoft's low-powered OS. It's remarkably small for a full Windows device — it's 8.2mm thick, and weighs only 1.2 pounds. The Tab 3 comes with Office built in, and there's an S Pen here as well. Unfortunately it only has a 1366 x 768 screen, but Samsung promises up to eight hours of battery life.

Samsung announces Galaxy NX Android-powered interchangeable lens camera
Gallery Photo: Samsung Galaxy NX pictures Samsung has just announced the Galaxy NX, its latest interchangeable lens camera. The Galaxy NX is unique compared to the rest of Samsung's NX line in that it is powered by Android — much in the same way the company's Galaxy Camera and Galaxy S4 Zoom are.
Read Article >The Galaxy NX looks very similar to Samsung's prior NX models, save for the giant 4.8-inch HD touchscreen display grafted to the back of it. Essentially, the NX is the love-child of a Galaxy S3 smartphone and NX20 camera — it's powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, runs Android 4.2.2, and features an APS-C class 20.3-megapixel image sensor. It has full compatibility with Samsung's growing line of interchangeable lenses — including the new 3D lenses. It has 16GB of internal storage, support for microSD cards, and 2GB of RAM. The Galaxy NX is also equipped with Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity, so you can upload and share your images virtually anywhere, and it has an SVGA resolution eye-level viewfinder.
