Exploring unknown areas typically conveys thoughts of deep space travel, but there are plenty of regions here on Earth that have been unexplored by modern humans. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's ship Okeanos Explorer and its robotic submarine is crawling the floor of the Northeast U.S. Canyons and providing a live video feed so that everyone can watch along as unique sea live is discovered and observed. The submarine is capable of going down as deep as 10,000 feet, and has already seen various life forms such as translucent fish, crabs, and deep sea eels. You can watch along and listen to the scientists' commentary in the live stream below, which will be broadcast from about 8:30AM ET to 4:00PM ET each day this week.
