Marvel has just announced that Michael Douglas will join Paul Rudd in 2015's Ant-Man, directed by Edgar Wright. The Oscar-winning actor will play the role of Dr. Henry Pym, the first Marvel character to don the persona of Ant-Man and inventor of the Pym particles that can shrink people to the size of an ant. Rudd has officially been awarded the role of Scott Lang, the second Ant-Man, who, in the comics, stole the Ant-Man costume as a means to save his ailing daughter.
Plot details are currently scarce, and Marvel has kept casting tightly under wraps up until now. However, according to Variety, early rumors suggested that Wright is focusing on Ant-Man's later years (a sensible decision given Douglas' age). The film will hit theaters on July 31st, 2015.
