Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will be providing the score for David Fincher's upcoming film Gone Girl. The movie, an adaptation of Gillian Flynn's novel by the same name, stars Ben Affleck and is scheduled to hit theaters in October. It's the third consecutive collaboration between Reznor, Ross, and director Fincher. The duo provided the score for The Social Network in 2010 and were rewarded with both an Oscar and Grammy. In 2011, Reznor and Ross again paired up with Fincher for the US version of The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo.
Flynn's psychological thriller centers around the disappearance of Amy Dunne on her fifth wedding anniversary; her husband Nick (Affleck) is quickly seen as a prime suspect in the case. Flynn recently hinted that the film's ending may differ significantly from the book. So if you've already read it, the big screen adaptation may still offer some surprises. The announcement caps off a busy day for Reznor; Beats Music, the streaming music service that he helped create, launched earlier today.
