Sprint is launching a cloud storage service for its customers today, following the options already available from Verizon Wireless and AT&T. Powered by Pogoplug, Sprint's service provides 5GB of storage for free to its customers, with an option for unlimited storage for $4.99 per month. The service has apps for both Android and iOS, and lets users move photos, videos, music, and other files off of their devices and onto Sprint's servers. Sprint notes that its cloud service is the only one from a major carrier that has an unlimited storage option — AT&T only offers a 5GB plan, while Verizon caps its storage options at 125GB.

The cloud storage space is extremely crowded and dominated by players such as Dropbox and Google. It's not clear how many people actually take advantage of cloud storage from their carriers, but if you're a Sprint customer looking to dump a lot of stuff into the cloud, it's hard to beat $4.99 per month for unlimited space.
