Last year, Marvel announced it would be taking a mobile, theme park-like attraction across the United States and Canada in 2014. Now the Disney-owned comic creator has given its first glimpse of what that show will look like. Concept art for the Marvel Experience shows a series of domes designed to look like an installation of the invented S.H.I.E.L.D. law enforcement agency, in which Marvel says guests will be led through "an array of interactive games and original animated short films."
The touring dome complex will take up two acres, and at its highest point, reach more than six stories into the sky — the first time, Marvel says, a venue of this type and size has been used for a mobile tour. The show was planned in partnership with LA-based entertainment company Hero Ventures. Doug Shaer, Hero Ventures COO, promised that in addition to something Marvel are calling "the first- ever traveling motion-based ride," guests will be able to interact directly with multiple Marvel superheroes and S.H.I.E.L.D. officers. Exact tour dates for the show are yet to be confirmed, but its creators say the show will visit select cities for "weeks at a time" starting this spring.
