Microsoft’s next Build developer conference will start on April 29th in San Francisco next year. Build will run between April 29th and May 1st, just ahead of a new Ignite conference that Microsoft is holding in Chicago on May 4th. Build has traditionally focused on the future of Windows and any developer changes, and Windows 10 will undoubtedly be the star of next year’s show. Microsoft is currently testing early versions of Windows 10 with the public as part of a Technical Preview, but the timing of Build 2015 coincides with rumors that the company will release a final version in the spring.
Microsoft’s new Ignite conference is a combination of the company’s Tech-Ed and Management Summit events. Ignite will include appearances from CEO Satya Nadella, former Windows chief Julie Larson-Green, and Joe Belfiore, who now handles Windows customization for phones, tablets, and PCs. Ignite will be hosted in Chicago on May 4th through May 8th, and both Build and Ignite will likely include more information on Windows 10 and Microsoft’s touch-optimized version of Office.
