Telltale's 'Game of Thrones' game will premiere 'soon'

Winter is coming — and it'll be here shortly. Telltale Games, the studio behind series like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, has announced that the first episode of its new Game of Thrones series will be "premiering soon." The first episode will feature the title "Iron From Ice." The new series was first revealed nearly a year ago, and since then Telltale has slowly teased subtle hints at what we can expect from. Back in August the developer tweeted a quote from A Dance With Dragons, the fifth book in the series, and emphasized the importance of House Forrester.

But aside from that, we don't really have any hard details about the game or its story — we haven't even seen a screenshot yet. However, along with the release timeline, today Telltale also revealed a piece of art from the game, depicting the Iron Throne in a painterly style that looks very different from the studio's past games. The teaser image also includes the phrase "episode one of six," suggesting that Game of Thrones will be a bit longer than past Telltale games, which traditionally clock in at five episodes. Thankfully it looks like the studio is nearly done with teases, and we should be able to finally check out the game very soon.
