Telltale's Game of Thrones video game is almost here, and the Walking Dead developer has just released the very first trailer showing the title in action. The game sports a similar visual style as past Telltale games like The Wolf Among Us, but with a painterly style that seems to fit in well with the fantasy setting.

The six episode-long game series will be set towards the end of season three of the HBO series initially, ending just before the events of season five. It will be focused on House Forrester, a little known house from the north of Westeros that's historically been fiercely loyal to the Starks, and will take place in Ironrath, a stronghold surrounded by towering ironwood trees.

In a first for the developer, Game of Thrones will let you control five different characters, all from House Forrester, including both family members and those in service to the house. As with all Telltale games, the choices you make will have a big influence on the experience, and each of the five characters will have a role in preventing the Forresters from meeting their demise — what you do while playing as one character can influence what happens to everyone else. The Verge can exclusively reveal one of the new Forrester-affiliated characters featured in the game, Ser Royland Degore, "Ironrath’s Master-at-Arms." Here's how Telltale describes him:

Royland Degore joined Lord Forrester’s army after his family was wiped out by Ironborn during Balon Greyjoy’s rebellion. Degore had a natural grasp of military tactics and strategy and came to play a crucial role in the siege of Pyke that ended the war. In the months that followed, King Robert awarded Royland a knighthood and Lord Forrester asked him to serve as Ironrath’s Master-at-Arms. Ser Royland still holds the position and is known for his military expertise… as well as his legendary temper. In addition to the Forresters, the game will also feature a number of familiar faces from the show, including Cersei Lannister and Margaery Tyrell. Tyrion Lannister will also make an appearance, voiced by none other than Peter Dinklage. There's still no release date for the first episode, "Iron From Ice," but the game will be launching on a number of platforms, including PC, Mac, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and iOS.
