We might be decades from a full-sized version capable of transporting billion-dollar jet planes, but Flite Test's Heli Carrier should still delight fans of The Avengers. The remote-controlled carrier is made out of about $1,000 worth of components, including a modified quadcopter. In its latest podcast, Flite Test noted that the $130 motors used in the project were lukewarm after a run, even after taking to the air with a 15 lbs load. A recently posted video provides a tantalizing glimpse of the device in flight with a small drone taking off from its makeshift runway. Full details about the Heli Carrier will manifest sometime soon.
