If you've managed to avoid using Spotify all this time, your patience has finally been rewarded. As part of a limited time deal, the company is giving new subscribers a rate of 99 cents a month for up to three months of service, something that normally costs $9.99 a month. That gets you no advertising, higher bitrates, and the capability to download music for offline listening.
There are some caveats to the deal, including that you cannot get it if you're a current subscriber, have subscribed in the past, or taken the company up on one of its free trials before. It also ends December 31st, though you can sign up for that rate and continue paying it beyond the date. After that, it goes back up to $9.99, or $4.99 if you're a student with an .edu email address. Oh yeah, and there's no Taylor Swift, regardless of what plan you're on.
