Zach Braff's Kickstarter-funded movie Wish I Was Here will be released on July 18th in New York and Los Angeles, according to Variety. Focus Features, which bought the rights to the movie in January for $2.75 million after its Sundance premiere, will give it a limited opening at first, with additional theaters added in following weeks.

Wish I Was Here is one of the two biggest Kickstarter movies of last year — Braff's campaign ended with over $3.1 million funded by nearly 50,000 people. The theatrical version of Veronica Mars was the other Kickstarter success, reaching its $2 million goal in less than 12 hours and eventually racking up $5.7 million in funding.

Braff's newest film was one of our favorites from Sundance — it stars Braff as a young father trying to figure out his life which includes his eccentric brother played by Josh Gad, and his dying father played by Mandy Patinkin. Whether you enjoyed Braff's directorial debut Garden State or not, we'd recommend taking the time to see Wish I Was Here.
