The Oculus Rift is one of the most exciting new pieces of technology around, and it looks like other companies aren't waiting to make their own take on the virtual reality headset. It's rumored that Sony is making a device to compete with the Oculus Rift, and it appears that the company might reveal the first details tonight at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco.
Sony has said little about tonight's session, entitled "Driving the Future of Innovation at Sony Computer Entertainment," but the company does promise that the presentation will focus on "innovation at PlayStation" and "the future of gaming." More importantly, two of the more inventive minds at PlayStation — R&D director Richard Marks and colleague Anton Mikhailov — will be at the session. The two previously worked on the PlayStation Move and EyeToy, as well as additional work at the company's Magic Lab, which has done tests on eye tracking for the PlayStation 4.
The signs suggest that there should be some pretty exciting news out of the presentation, so we'll be covering the event live. Be sure to join us as we live blog the session at 8:45PM ET, 5:45PM PT!
