Harrison Ford broke his leg, not ankle, on 'Star Wars' set

Harrison Ford is off the set of the new Star Wars film on account of an injury, but that injury is apparently a bit different than what was originally reported: it turns out that Ford broke his left leg, not his ankle, according to the BBC. That makes the injury sound as though it could be a bit more serious than initially believed, though Ford's publicist says that he's doing just fine. "He's doing well and looks forward to returning to work," his publicist tells the BBC. Ford, 71, underwent surgery for the broken leg and will enter rehab soon.

Ford is expected to be off the set of J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII for up to eight weeks because of the injury. Even so, Lucasfilm says that there should be no delays to production, as filming can be shuffled around to account for Ford's absence. Ford is on set to reprise his role as Han Solo from the classic trilogy, and it's reported that his role in the new movie could be a fairly big one, though there are no hard details on the plot just yet. Episode VII is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18th, 2015.
