The tenth Mortal Kombat game is coming next year. Developer Netherrealm Studios has just announced Mortal Kombat X, the first entry in the series since 2011's reboot Mortal Kombat. The new game is slated to launch sometime in 2015, but aside from that we don't have much in the way of details — the announce trailer appears to be a CG render, not actual gameplay, though it does suggest that the game will maintain the series' 2D battlefield. It's also as gory as you'd expect, with X-ray closeups of cracked bones and squished organs. The game will be coming to the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC when it debuts next year. In the meantime, you check out Sub-Zero and Scorpion pummeling each other in the debut teaser.
