Apple began preparing San Francisco's Moscone Center for its Worldwide Developers Conference last week. By Thursday, its logo was nearly ready.
By this morning, a huge line had formed outside of the convention center, waiting to be let in for Apple's keynote presentation.
Inside, things were a bit quieter, and big posters teased some of Apple's coming announcements.
Once the show started, Cook came out first to welcome the crowd and provide an update on iOS and OS X sales and installations.
This year's WWDC was really software chief Craig Federighi's show. Once Cook stepped away, Federighi came out to introduce all the new features coming in iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite.
Beats didn't have a big presence on stage, though a quick call was made to Dr. Dre while demonstrating calls from the Mac. That's not his real number, by the way. We checked.
That was about it for Beats. Oh, and then there was this.
Design chief Jony Ive didn't have a presence on stage today, though he did pop up during one demonstration... with Federighi's thick head of hair edited on top.
Federighi took care of a number of the keynote's software demonstrations, heading over to this pair of iMacs to show off new OS X features.
Clearly, a successful demonstration.
After unveiling a new tool for game developers, Apple called out Epic Games founder Tim Sweeney (right) to talk about what it was capable of while his colleague ran through a demo.
By the end of the two-hour event, Federighi had a lot of features to recap. The ones behind him are aimed just at developers.
