Sci-fi epic 'Jupiter Ascending' gets delayed until February 2015

The Wachowskis have been hard at work on their latest film, the sci-fi epic Jupiter Ascending, but audiences will have to wait a little longer to get a look themselves. The Hollywood Reporter and Variety are both reporting that Warner Bros. has pushed the release date of the film from July 18th of this year, all the way to February 6th, 2015. The film stars Channing Tatum as a genetic hybrid who sets out to help a woman named Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis), who may be in line to rule the universe.

It's not clear what's causing the move, but it certainly doesn't inspire confidence. A shift happening this late in the game can be a sign of a movie needing a little more time to finish — or a signal that the film just isn't working. With the new release date pegged for February, often a dumping ground for movies that studios don't have a lot of confidence in, this situation certainly seems to lean towards the latter option.
