The best album covers invite you to their imaginary worlds, but they've always been static images. What if album art were less like a painting and more like a window into another world? A Tumblr artist going by the name of JB has done just that with a little side project that's seen him turn dozens of classic albums into animated GIFs. The artist says that many of the albums were just waiting to be animated, and that he started animating them "for fun" before deciding to compile them in his Tumblr blog. The music tends towards metal and punk, but you'll find everything from Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull to Nirvana and Metallica in the collection.
