It looks like Fight Club director David Fincher will be taking an extremely hands-on role with HBO's remake of Utopia, a British conspiracy thriller created and written by Dennis Kelly. The Guardian writes that Fincher intends to direct the entire series, which will likely consume much of his 2015 schedule. Utopia follows the fans of an underground graphic novel, after they discover the author had created a secret manuscript.
"I like the characters – I love Dennis’s honesty and affinity for the nerds," Fincher told The Guardian. This will not be Fincher's television debut. Although the director is best known for films like The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,The Social Network, and the upcoming Gone Girl, he has served as executive producer for Netflix's award-winning House of Cards.
