Bang & Olufsen has been making high-design audio products for decades, but it doesn't make a habit of bending to mainstream trends. More recently, however, that's begun to change. At CES 2015, the storied company is releasing its first pair of wireless on-ear headphones in the BeoPlay H8.
Bluetooth headphones are increasingly in vogue
Bluetooth headphones are increasingly in vogue, since the best ones look great, are easy to carry around, and can produce quality sound. The H8 features a touch interface that lets you adjust playback, change tracks, answer calls, and turn on Active Noise Cancellation with only gestures. It's also pretty lightweight, coming in at 255g (which is roughly the weight of two iPhone 6s). And Bang & Olufsen says the cans have a muscular 14 hours of battery life.
The BeoPlay H8s, available in two colors, will go for $499 when they hit the Bang & Olufsen online store and select retail locations later this month. Hopefully they're worth it.
Update: A previous version of this article stated that the H8s are over-ear headphones. They are on-ear headphones. We've since updated the article and regret the error.
