James Bond fans wanting to see more Spectre action ahead of the film's worldwide release next month should head over to Snapchat. The latest entry in the Bond franchise has its own dedicated Discover channel, showing behind-the-scenes content from the film as well as brief soundbites from cast members. According to Deadline, this is the first time Snapchat has helped create a Discover channel to promote a new movie, with the content accessible for just 24 hours in 17 countries including the US and UK.
"one-stop shop for spectre content."
"For one day only, Snapchat will be the one-stop shop for Spectre content, including photos and behind-the-scenes looks at the making of this incredible movie," Sony Pictures marketing exec Dwight Caines told Deadline. Nick Bell, Snapchat's head of content, said: "We’re huge James Bond fans and excited to give our community a sneak peek into the action."
The behind-the-scenes vignettes include a look at Spectre's nighttime car-chase through Rome and the challenges of filming in the Austrian alps. Any Snapchat users who swipe through all of the videos are then encouraged to message their friends with a snap reading: "Come see Spectre with me!" The messaging app will also be offering Spectre-themed filters for images and videos when the film opens in the UK this Monday and then in the US on November 6th.
