Blizzard has always had a great track record for releasing Mac OS versions of their games. If you can think of it, it has a Mac port.
For those that have been keeping up, you're probably aware that Blizzard is releasing their first new IP in a very long time. A FPS game called Overwatch.
On the 28th of October Blizzard started to release invites into the beta program. As is the norm, they released a short FAQ as well to accompany it. Now in most cases, there is nothing that really of notable interest in these (particularly to outsiders) - but in this case one particular Q&A says something very unexpected.
Q. Will Mac users be able to participate in the beta?
We’re developing Overwatch for Windows-based PCs only, so a Mac-specific beta will not be provided.
Now Blizzard releasing Betas for Windows first is not unheard of (or anything alarming for that matter). But this particular answer seems to be suggesting that there is no Mac client - period.
This has, needless to say, spurred a bit of a discussion:
Is it just a badly phrased answer? Will a Mac client just be released later? Why don't they have a Mac client in development? Will this affect future titles as well?
