After being pushed back from this holiday season, the next Star Fox adventure finally has a new release date: April 22nd. The Wii U game, called Star Fox Zero, was first announced at E3 in 2014, and is the first new entry in the series since Star Fox Command in 2006.

Zero is one of the few Wii U games that attempts to utilize the Gamepad in interesting ways, with the second screen acting as a cockpit view. But during our time with the game earlier this year we found the controls to be confusing and inaccessible — which may be why the game was delayed in the first place.

"Although we felt that the development had been progressing well," legendary Nintendo producer Shigeru Miyamoto said when the game was delayed, "we now believe that we will need a little more time to work on areas such as the unprecedented discovery that we want players to experience in the game by using two screens, and further polishing the level designs and perfecting the tone of the cut scenes."
