Khal Drogo himself is heading to Netflix. The Hollywood Reporter reports that former Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa has signed on to star in the streaming company's next original series, Frontier, set to premier next year. San Andreas director Brad Peyton is attached to both produce and direct.
Khal Drogo is now a fur trader
Frontier is being billed as an action-adventure series that will chronicle the North American fur trade in the late 18th century. Momoa will play Declan Harp, a ruthless trader who, not unlike the Dothraki horselord that put him on the map, is as lusty as he is brutal. Momoa is also set to play Aquaman in the upcoming Batman v. Superman, though audiences haven't yet seen him be appropriately sexy and violent in any of that film's released footage.
The new Frontier series now joins an ever-expanding roster of Netflix originals, alongside favorites like House of Cards and the upcoming Black Mirror revival. Frontier premieres in the US in 2016.
